Well, I never got around to experimenting with other mediums/styles. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost my artistic mojo and am just tired of pressuring myself about trying to draw when I really don't feel like it. Somewhere along the way art turned into work for me and I can't seem to get out of that space no matter how hard I try or how hard I wish things to be different. I just don't seem to have the passion for my art that I once had and it turns out that the initial enthusiasm I had when I first came to DA has worn off. I'd really hoped that a fire had been reignited for me but time hasn't shown that to be the case. So, here I am.

For YEARS now, I've labored over this problem, trying to figure out what went wrong and when. Long story short, what I think caused this problem for me was something that happened in high school. I loved to draw but my art teacher made me start painting--which I liked but it wasn't really my thing--and he gave me the impression that drawing wasn't a legit art form but rather a preparatory stage of a painting. So I stopped drawing and tried to make myself paint cuz I thought that's what I was supposed to do. This made me miserable. Eventually, I stopped painting and, that being the case, wasn't doing any art for years. Here and there since then I've drawn and even felt a bit of that old passion again but it seemed to go as quickly and easily as it came.

I've no idea what I'm going to do about this situation but right now it turns out I'm busy taking a class so it's not a good time to hassle myself about it anyway. I'll definitely check in here at DA to see all the great work of the artists here but I doubt you'll see any new art from me for a long time, if ever.
